BMW Gains Great Momentum in 2013 with Strong Sale Records

The first quarter of this year turned out to be quite a strong one for BMW, and we have a feeling the success is only going to increase from here. When taking a look at the new BMW models and all of the advanced technology that they have to offer, here at Rick Hendrick BMW Charleston we aren't too surprised by the automaker's achievements.

Despite the increased competition within the luxury segment, and the challenges that were faced when trying to cost effectively produce the most advanced innovations, BMW pushed through it all. In fact, it even produced its second highest record of first quarter sales that the BMW Group has ever seen. Not too shabby considering how challenging the conditions have become within the luxury market.

Norbert Reithofer, chairman of the board of management, BMW AG, further explains the success of the first quarter and explains, "At 9.9%, the operating margin in the Automotive segment for the three-month period was at the top end of the return corridor we aspire to achieve on a sustainable basis."1

A few different model ranges are responsible for helping BMW reach a new sales volume record and sustain a leading worldwide position in the premium segments. The leaders include the BMW X1 with a sales volume during the first quarter of 53,906 vehicles. Impressive sales growth was also recorded for the BMW 3 Series with 109,309 units sold. The BMW 5 Series and 7 Series proved to be popular model ranges as well.
