August Proves to be a Strong Month of Sales for BMW in the U.S.

This summer, the BMW Group (MINI and BMW brands combined) turned up the heat with its sales momentum to record some pretty impressive monthly records. August in particular showed a 35.4 percent boost in U.S. sales for the automaker, with 22,553 units sold. Looking at the year-to-date sales, BMW has experienced a sale of over 233,326 models, a 12 percent increase over the sales recorded during the same 8 month period in 2012.

Ludwig Willisch, president and CEO of BMW of North America, LLC., reflects on this success, explaining, "This has been a summer of momentum, giving us a good tail-wind as we enter the all-important autumn selling season. With the arrival of the new X5 and the new 4 Series Coupe in the next couple of months, we are heading towards a strong finish for the year."1.

Looking more specifically at BMW brand sales, 24,523 units were sold in August, for a total increase over last year's August sales of 45.7 percent. It's year-to-date sales remain strong with a 14.8 percent increase and 188,997 units sold. Customers in the Charleston, SC area and beyond, just can't seem to get enough of what the new BMW lineup has to offer.

Some of the strongest performing models include the BMW 3 Series, which sold 10,357 units for a sales increase of 66.9 percent. It was followed by the BMW 5 Series models selling 4.359 units, an impressive increase of 158.2 percent over last year. Both the BMW 6 Series and 7 Series recorded August sale increases as well.
