Jump Start a Battery with These Steps

If you get into your car and the engine won’t turn over because of a dead battery, knowing how to jump start your car can save you from an expensive towing bill. By following these simple steps, you can easily get your dead battery started.

Connect the red jumper cable to the positive terminal of the dead battery and a working car’s battery. Connect one end of the black jumper cable to the negative terminal of the working car’s battery, and the other end to a piece of metal in the dead car’s engine. Start the working car and let it run for 2 minutes. The dead car should now be able to start without any trouble.
