You might be privy to the fact that BMW will be filling the gap in its X lineup - which is currently composed of the - with the X4 in the imminent future. According to recent reports, the highly anticipated X4 is slated to debut at the 2013 North American Auto Show. That suggests an ETA of late 2013 or early 2014. Of course, we won't have to postulate for very long. The Bavarian automaker will surely clue its fans in at the show. But, it's not the X4, Rick Hendrick BMW Charleston wants to discuss today. Rather, it's the most recent BMW to hit the rumor mill: an M variant of the X4.

That's right; word on the street has it that BMW will also be bringing a supped up X4 M to market. Unlike some rumors we hear, this one actually isn't all that farfetched. M energy is strongly represented in nearly every BMW series and lines. Case in point: the X lineup. Both the X5 and X6 have M counterparts.

Like the X5 M and X6 M, a potential X4M would boast menacing M power and all of the exclusive aesthetic details that clearly distinguish M as separate from the rest of the BMW crowd. Among other things, this includes a signature grille, mirrors and spoiler.

We invite you to stay tuned to our BMW blog to find out if there is any truth to these whisperings.  In the meantime, we'd like to take an unofficial poll…

How will you receive the imminent X4? Would you receive the un-confirmed X4M in the same fashion?

Not that you're asking; but, we here at Rick Hendrick BMW Charleston would answer with: Open arms. And: Yes.
