Just by taking one look at the new BMW lineup, it's easy to see why more and more drivers in the greater Charleston, SC area and beyond are taking advantage of what it has to offer. Reflecting this increase, BMW sales in June were stronger than ever.
As a whole, the BMW Group, which includes the BMW + MINI brands, experienced a sales increase of 21.4 percent in June when compared to sales from the previous year for the two brands. When looking at the first six months of 2013 year-to-date, the BMW Group is already seeing an increase of 9.0 percent.
President and CEO for BMW of North America, Ludwig Willisch, boasts, "There is nothing like an abundance of new and popular models to drive sales, resulting in new U.S. sales records for BMW, MINI and pre-owned BMW. We started this year with confidence and optimism; the sales results have verified our viewpoint and we are very much looking forward to the second half with more new models on the way including the new X5."1
Some of the top performing models in June were from the BMW 3 Series with had a 62.6 percent increase, the BMW 6 Series up 119.5 percent, and the BMW 7 Series with an increase of 58.6 percent. In addition, the BMW X3 SAV experienced a boost in sales of 5.5 percent.
It's not just brand-new models that customers are after either. June sales showed a spike in used BMW sales as well, an increase of 2.7 percent in June. When looking at the first six months of 2013, sales are up a total of 5.2 percent when compared to last year.
