A Boss Interior

Unlike most luxury SUVs its size, the 2019 BMW X5 comes equipped with two rows standard, to give you the option of maximizing your cargo space (over 72 cubic feet with the middle row folded flat--and the option of a lower starting price--if you don't often travel with more than four other passengers. An available third row boosts seating capacity up to seven passengers. With options like heated and cooled cupholders, Merino or Vernasca leather, and full-cabin comforts, though, you can seat a full house and still keep everyone happy.

Dressed to Impress

Everything about the look of the 2019 BMW X5 is new, but familiar--except for an available Off-Road Package option, which is a first ever for this model. The iconic kidney grille is larger, the Cluster Architecture (CLAR) platform is stronger, and the overall dimensions are bigger than ever.

BMW Culls Engine Options, But Adds Horsepower

The new-gen BMW X5 drops down to two engine options from a previous four total options (two gas, one diesel, and one hybrid) and, for now, keeps drivetrain options to one: standard xDrive all-wheel drive on all models. A 3.0-liter twin-turbo six-cylinder engine comes standard on the base model, and offers 335 horsepower--35 HP more than last year's base engine. A 4.4-liter turbocharged V8 engine comes standard on the top-ranging model, and offers 456 horsepower--11 HP more than last year.

Well-Connected for the Modern Age

Luxury cars need to be so much more than just sport driving machines today--they need to be connections. The new 2019 BWM X5 is loaded with tech: new dual 12.3-inch screens on the center stack, a BMW Live Cockpit Professional display to replace typical speedometer and other gauges, updated iDrive 6.0 infotainment and BMW ConnectedDrive, and the ability to connect to Wi-Fi anywhere thanks to an available built-in hotspot.
