When trying to set the date and time in my 2024 X5, it says the function is currently unavailable. Both the automatic time setting and the time are greyed out, features not working.
BMW relies on GPS to automatically set the time, a weak GPS signal can cause the feature to be unavailable. Ensure that your vehicle has a clear view of the sky to improve GPS reception. If you're in an area with tall buildings or dense tree cover, it may affect the GPS signal.
Make sure that your BMW is set to the correct time zone. If the time zone is set incorrectly, the automatic time setting may not work as expected. You can usually adjust the time zone in the general settings menu of your car's infotainment system.
Sometimes, a software glitch can cause certain features to become unavailable or greyed out. Try restarting your BMW's infotainment system by pushing in and holding your volume knob with the vehicle on for about 30 seconds (until display shuts off) or performing a system update/updating apps and services if available.
