The BMW 3 Series Receives a Big Refresh for the 2019 Model Year

The 2019 BMW 3 Series is all-new, and it brings plenty of new equipment, new looks, and new performance to the table for the 2019 MY. One of the biggest improvements won't be found on a spec sheet, though. The new 2019 model is said to be the best to drive in recent memory. The first trim levels to be available include the 330i and 330i xDrive; M340i and M340i xDrive models are in the second wave; and a BMW 330e iPerformance model will be available in 2020.

Interior Space and Features

The new seventh-generation 2019 BMW 3 Series places a heavier-than-ever emphasis on driver-focused design and interior space. The slightly increased length of the new model means more room in the cabin for you and passengers. Balanced lines, smooth curves, and electroplated trim strips create a refined finish for the look.

Retuned Body and New Undercarriage Smarts

The new 2019 BMW 3 Series model is longer than last year's iteration but is actually even lighter thanks to a more widespread use of strong aluminum. Overall rigidity of the body has increased to up to 50% over last year as well to deliver a smoother and more responsive ride. Add in new shock-absorbing technology, a new chassis, and a lot of new body parts, and the outside of the all-new BMW 3 Series looks as good as its ride feels.

Engine Options and Performance

Standard power for the 2019 BMW 3 Series comes from a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine making 255 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque and paired to an 8-speed Sport Steptronic transmission. This year's powertrain is a full 7 HP and 37 LB-FT more powerful than last year. The BMW M340i line will feature a standard six-cylinder turbocharged gas engine good for 382 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque. BMW's intelligent and rear-biased xDrive all-wheel-drive system will be available on all trims.

Lighting, Technology, and Connectivity

The 2019 BMW 3 Series is brighter than ever--with standard interior LED lighting in every new cabin, and optional ambient lighting for a customized feel. New adaptive LED headlights with BMW Laserlight shed light on the road ahead, while the advanced new BMW Live Cockpit infotainment system keeps you connected anywhere. Stream favorite music and podcasts with standard hi-fi audio with optional Harman Kardon surround sound. Safety and driver-assistance features include Active Cruise Control with Stop and Go, Active Guard Collision and Pedestrian Warning with City Braking, and Rear Collision Protection and Cross-Traffic Alert.
